Summary

The novel is narrated in first-person present by the main character, Tori Spring. In the first chapter, she goes back to high school after winter break and feels depressed. She greets her friends, Becky and Evelyn, but Tori is not interested in talking about Harry Potter with them. Tori is a junior at Harvey Greene Grammar School for Girls, or “Higgs” as the students like to call it. However, during junior and senior years, or “sixth form,” boys are allowed to enroll at Higgs. Tori goes to her locker and finds a pink Post-it note with an arrow on it. She follows it and finds more Post-its until she comes to an abandoned computer room, C16. Inside, she finds a final Post-it note with a website, Solitaire.co.uk, written on it. Suddenly, a boy she has never seen before, Michael Holden...
