Chapter 3 Summary
According to dona Felicia, nothing you do to heal will work without first placing your faith completely in God. Dona Felicia herself was once a "non-believer"; as a child, she was suspicious of the religion that failed to help the destitute around her, including her mother, who died of malnutrition and untreated disease when dona Felicia was eight. When she developed her faith, it was through the guidance of the wise teachers dona Felicia met as she traveled home with her two infants from the Mexican Civil War after her husband Juan was killed.
