Summary
Louise attempts to stay calm as Mimi continually calls Lavinia’s phone, looking for her. Louise cleans the blood off Lavinia and positions her carefully so that, as she takes her outside of the bathroom, she appears to simply be extremely intoxicated and not dead. As she does this, Louise recalls the end of her relationship with Virgil. They had been arguing, with Virgil suggesting they move out the city, and that Louise needs to lose weight, and that nobody would love her like he did. In the midst of this, Louise hit him, hard, and left. Louise manages to get Lavinia home and cleans her body further as Mimi continually texts Lavinia’s phone. Mimi calls Lavinia and Louise answers, pretending to be Lavinia, and suggests they meet up at a bar.
