Summary

Lavinia suggests the two get matching tattoos to remind them of their adventure on New Year’s, which Louise reluctantly goes along with. Louise and Lavinia work on their writing together, although Lavinia mostly gets distracted. Louise, however, is able to finish her stories and send them to magazines and publishers. She sends an essay to Lavinia’s friend Gavin, who likes it and connects her with another magazine editor. However, Louise also continually misses work and is losing money.

One night, as Louise is heading home, the man who catcalls her hears her singing to herself. He begins harassing her and grabs her arm, and Louise beats him and punches him before running inside.
