Chapter 40 Summary

Hiro turns around to see a large white man with a baseball cap with the New South Africa franchise logo on it and an enormous gut standing behind him. The man crudely asks Hiro what his ethnic background is, and Hiro swivels around to the other side of the table. Chuck has disappeared. Hiro thanks the man politely for announcing his intentions, and slices off the man's head with his katana. Hiro takes off for the door of the bar. Hiro runs out into the main hallway of the Towne Hall, and he sees the Enforcers starting to follow after him. Hiro switches on his goggles to show everything; radar, infrared, sound processing, and music by the Meltdowns. As he is running, Hiro feels something hit his back.
