Summary

In Chapter 16, Louise has rearranged everything in the house. As Billie prepares for her next interview on Mason's show, he asks if they can reassure people “that love will come eventually” (203). Billie is adamantly opposed. During the show, Billie says anyone who is happily in love need not hear her advice. Mason plays devil's advocate, suggesting that love is possible. Billie says anyone in love begins to look for problems that inevitably appear. She also says love should never be a game. She urges people to consider things that are fun without romance. Though a staff member is waving frantically that it is time to stop, Billie continues her rant. The staff member says they will have to cut another of the day's interviews because of Billie. Mason tells Billie not to worry about it, but he does ask if she is alright...
