Chapter 10 Summary

Zane wakes up in a bed in Hawk's Keep with an avian doctor he doesn't recognize standing over him. He stumbles to the door and down to where he can hear screaming outside of Danica's door. Erica is trying to convince the Royal Flight guards to allow her to see Danica, saying that she can save her. Danica tells him the knife that struck him had avian poison.

Erica confesses to Zane that she is the falcon he thinks she is. She says she saved his life and begs for him to allow her to save Danica and the baby's lives.

Zane allows Erica to enter Danica's room. When Erica emerges, she says she's saved Danica and the baby girl. She says her use of magic makes it impossible for Danica to carry another child though so this will be the only heir...
