Chapter 2 Summary
Zane and Danica are talking about their childhood as they head to the sha'Mejay, which is the nest where the dancers live, eat, practice and study. Danica is telling Zane about Sebastian, a playmate of hers until the war broke out. Zane settles in and Danica goes to the stage to dance for her king and mate.
As she is dancing, Danica gets dizzy and almost falls off the stage. Zane catches her before she falls. A'isha suggests Zane gets his brother-in-law to make Danica some raspberry tea. This suggestion brings a smile to Zane's face. When Zane touches Danica, she is cold; normally, as an avian she is always warm because she is warm-blooded. Zane sends for someone to bring Danica's doctor from the Keep.
