Chapters 7-8 Summary

In chapter 7, Link discovers that the story of his saving Katya is all over the papers, in some it appears on the front page. Link decides to spend the day riding and arranges for a horse at the front desk. Link rides all over the countryside in the company of a young stable hand sent along to keep him from getting lost. When Link returns to the hotel, Conrad is waiting for him so they can go to dinner. Conrad goes to the room with Link and they talk about Man in a Car as Link changes. Link learns that he has shown more of himself in this role than any other before it, leaving him feeling vulnerable.

The following day, Link goes to the races as van Huren's guest. Over lunch, Link meets the Chairman of the Race Club. Link...
