Summary

Chapter 22: "Can You Have Postpartum Depression Two Years After Having Babies" opens with Sarah describing how Tony used to care for her when they were just roommates. Sarah fell in love when he gave her a good luck charm and attended one of her early plays. One night, she asked him to dance and the two have been together ever since. She includes a picture from their wedding.

Then, Sarah discusses how time often passed unnoticed between celebrations. After two years, Sarah hid her feelings of helplessness while a Buddhist teacher said that moments of anger can undo years of karma. Sarah, who did not recognize herself at the time, eventually met Tony’s new stepmother, a Thai woman who had her own disfigurement after her cranial nerve was severed.
