Summary
In the second chapter, “Ruth,” Ruth says people have different needs, such as a mother who does not care how she looks during the delivery but wants to put on makeup, brush her hair, and look good after the birth. She was in the same situation when she gave birth to her only son, Edison, and worried that her hair was overly frizzy. Ruth arrives at work at Mercy-West Haven Hospital.
