Summary

Part Four is the final part of the novel and begins with Blur still in Patches’ compound. He begins to feel the effects of an anesthetic drug, but manages to flee with Flip. He encounters a group of teenagers as he runs away on foot and asks one to stomp on his face to alter his appearance. Blur primarily flees on foot, but Cammie hacks a nearby drone to communicate and follow him. Of his predicament, Blur wonders if he would be safer “if only I’d stayed invisible to myself” (236). He hot-wires a car and proceeds to drive to the Canadian border. En route, Blur reflects on his memory of drowning the rabbit upon his mother's insistence. He then thinks, "Poor Mom.
