Summary

Part Two begins with Blur and the woman on the phone speaking. She reveals her name is Cammie and that she suspects Blur is her father from sperm he used to donate at a clinic in his twenties. She tells him she knows his alias at that time was Davis Dowty. Blur is skeptical but finds “there’s a small part of [him] that would like to believe there’s a child of [his] out there who wants desperately to find [him]” (37). Early in Part Two, Blur aimlessly drives around in the Guiding Star; the plot’s progress occurs in Blur’s introspection. He briefly recalls being institutionalized in a psychiatric clinic when he was younger, and he also briefly recalls that he killed his mother; he does not dwell on this, though.
