Dooling Correctional Facility for Women is the setting for a good portion of the novel including the standoff between the sheriff’s deputies and those defending the prison and Evie.

Shopwell

Shopwell is the grocery store in Dooling. Mary asks Jared to drive her to this grocery store because there is a woman who works in the produce department who sells drugs. Mary wants uppers for herself, her sister, and her mother so they can stay awake. Later, in Our Place, the Shopwell becomes the place where the women hold their meetings.

Squeaky Wheel

The Squeaky Wheel is the name of the bar in Dooling. Michaela and Garth meet each other when they pay a visit to this bar.
