Summary
In "Baby A," while watching Baby A sleep "in the catch-crib," Trish considers what to do about Jim (93). She thinks about Baby A's dreams, and the importance of her donations. Afterwards, Trish bikes home. A sedan pulls up beside her. It is Felix Harkonnen. He tells her to get inside.
In "Night World," Felix drives Trish to the county Night World, located on "the old fairgrounds" (95). The Donor Y contagion has separated people into two groups: "those who need sleep and those who fear it" (96). At the Night World, Trish expects to witness animosity between the groups, but observes none. Everyone is enjoying themselves. Walking around, Trish thinks about Dori.
Felix leads Trish along the boardwalk. They stop at "one of the speakeasy tents" and order a drink (98). The drinks are potions meant to induce or prevent sleep (98). Trish observes people around them...
