Summary
The owner of the gallery placed a hand on Drioli’s arm and beckoned him out of the gallery. Drioli resisted and sprinted further into the gallery. Drioli claimed that he had a picture by Soutine before he removed his shirt to reveal the tattoo. The bystanders started to realize that the tattoo was indeed done by Soutine.
After Drioli explained how he came to have the tattoo, the gallery owner changed his tone and offered to buy the tattoo. Drioli and the crowd questioned the possibility of the owner obtaining the tattoo. The owner vocally considered various options, and he went as far as to ask Drioli how old he was and whether Drioli thought Drioli would die soon. This made Drioli uncomfortable, so he tried to escape from the conversation.
