Chapters 26 through Summary
In chapter twenty-six, Jordan goes to Reece's house and finds Gloria working in her yard. Gloria says Reece is upset because of the article and that she often goes to a spot near her cabin to think when she's upset. Jordan heads home, packs some clothes, and drives to catch the ferry. She pulls into the drive to the cabin and has continued to call Reece periodically throughout the day, with no answer. Jordan waits for awhile but remembers Gloria saying that Reece had a special place she goes to think. She pulls on her backpack and heads into the woods toward a nearby stream, believing that fits the description Gloria gave.
Jordan is calling out to Reece as she walks, and Reece's first words are for Jordan to get away from the edge of a cliff. Jordan discovers the ground...
