Chapters 19 through 21 Summary
In chapter nineteen, Susan is pressing Jordan for the first draft of her story about Reece McAllister. Jordan sends a message that she's going to work from home and leaves the office. At home, she begins going through videos of Reece's reporting clips. One of the clips shows Reece interviewing Pella Frann and Jordan admits the woman is beautiful. She has a French accent and is impeccable in her clothing and appearance. As Reece conducts the interview, Pella occasionally stumbles over the English word and reverts to French. At one point, she throws out several French words and Jordan realizes the syntax is overly correct, as in textbook language rather than conversational French. Jordan knows a native-speaking Frenchman would not have used those words and it piques her interest in Pella's background.
