Chapters 10 through 12 Summary
In chapter ten, Reece sets a grueling pace on the next leg of their hike, apparently seeking to put some distance between herself and Jordan, both physically and emotionally breaking the bond that seems about to form. Jordan chides herself for allowing the unprofessional fantasy she'd indulged in earlier. Reece tells Jordan they have to continue to hurry because there's going to be a rain soon. Jordan sets up her own tent this time and is nearly in tears by the time she's finished, enduring the rain that's coming down harder by then. Jordan wants to hide in her tent but Reece insists she find a rain suit and help with the camp chores. Jordan does so.
A short time later, Jordan's phone rings. She's amazed to have signal and Susan wastes no time asking if Jordan has gotten her interview...
