Chapters 11 and 12 Summary
Cabrillo meets the trio from the Pinguin in the topside galley. Like the rest of the Oregon, it is carefully constructed to appear worn out, rusted and on its last legs. They sit at a table in mismatched chairs, Juan placing his company carefully in front of the hidden camera so that they can be remotely monitored. Sloane spins a tale about meeting Tony on line and saving for a treasure hunt to find a ship they believe sank, but Max, monitoring the conversation, sends Juan a message telling him she's lying through her teeth. Juan spins his own yarn selling them as a tramp freighter and just as they get ready to go their separate ways, Sloane asks to speak with him in private.
