Summary

On Day 27, Chapter 57, Cooper visited Alec in the hospital. While she was there, she showed him the letter.

Alec asked Cooper if they thought the person who wrote the letter had taken Simon. She showed him the phone number they had found on Alec’s table. Alec realized that Cooper was studying him, slowly giving him information to see how he reacted. He told her the number belonged to Grace Cole. He said he had not called it because it did not seem to be a priority.

Next in the narration is a snippet of a conversation in which someone tells a woman that she did nothing wrong. The woman tells the speaker that she loves him. He says that he loves her as well.
