Summary
Chapter 18 begins the third day. George was coughing when he called Alec to tell him that Harry wanted them to go to the riding school. It appeared the owners of the school tried to make an insurance claim before the police had even told them where the horses had been found.
In Chapter 19, as Cooper and Alec ate breakfast, Cooper told Alec that the person who had killed the horses most likely was familiar with veterinary tools and had access to them.
Cooper also showed Alec a stack of missing pet fliers. She said she noticed that more pets were missing in the past few months, but fewer of them had been found or turned up at shelters. She could not explain the significance of this information.
