Summary

Chapter 13: Kaz starts as he takes Inej to Nina. Kaz is shaken, thinking of Jordie’s death, and tries to figure out what Inej wanted him to apologize for. Jesper asks who ambushed them, and Kaz tortures Oomen. Eventually, Oomen admits that Pikka Rollins paid the Black Tips to blow up the boat. Kaz throws him into the sea. Wylan is furious, but Kaz cuts him off, determined to destroy Rollins.

In Chapter 14: Nina, she works to put Inej back together even though she was not trained in traditional healing. It is revealed that she and her classmates were forced to hide during the civil war.
