Oxford House
The Oxford house is where September and July primarily grow up. They live here with Sheela after she leaves Peter, and he later dies. While in the Oxford house, the girls grow inseparable. They play imaginary games, tell stories, and invent their own seeming language. After September dies, however, Sheela struggles to remain in the house; it is filled with memories of September. She and July move out so that they can grieve somewhere else.
School
September and July's school is located in Oxford. Because of how close the sisters are, they do not have friends at school. Rather, they are the targets of unkindness and bullying.
