Summary

After Jeremy leaves for the airport, Kate sends Hank a text suggesting the park but he wants to go to Kaldi’s for coffee first. When they meet, he admits that he’s been invited to an earthquake party. Kate still has no intentions of appearing on the Today show with Violet, and Hank wonders if Violet will go on without her. Hank’s behavior is light and flirtatious when he says goodbye. Later in the day Hank texts Kate to tell her that Violet is attending a private vigil at the Mind & Spirit Bookstore that evening.

After putting the children to bed, Kate tries to decide how to occupy her time. She has already organized emergency supplies in the basement, put important documents together in a plastic bag, stored the china and pulled down all the wall hangings. She decides to call her...
