Summary

Daisy is unable to sleep after Owen’s two o’clock feeding, worrying about Violet’s prediction of another earthquake and considering the possible consequences. Later that morning, she tells Hank that she wants to buy a minivan, asking him if he’d do some advanced shopping with her. She describes how after shopping, she’d loaded Owen and Rosie, but struggled to get the rest of their groceries into the sedan. She neglects to mention that the probable cause was more likely the six gallons of water, extra diapers and batteries that she’d purchased ‘just in case’ and added to her usual list. She continues to sell the minivan idea by adding that they could all go out together if either of their vehicles would accommodate three child seats. The possibility of a coming earthquake is enough to have Daisy considering breaking...
