Section 9: Chapter 31-34 Summary
In Chapter 31, Valerie sneaks through the sliding glass door at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning and tiptoes into the den where Walter is sleeping. Walter does not move as Valerie clears an escape path, soaks the carpet around him and fills two large cups. When she throws one cup on his chest and one between his legs, Walter wakes up and panics when he notices the gas container and matches. Valerie tells him that she is going to burn him since he burned her. In Chapter 32, Inda argues with Chiquita and takes her keys since she has drank too much alcohol after confronting Raymond.
