Section 4: Chapter 13-16 Summary

In Chapter 13, Inda drinks coffee while waiting for Valerie to pick her up. When Valerie arrives, she curls up to sleep in the passenger seat, but Inda wants to talk. Valerie pretends to be asleep at first but then raises her head and confesses that Walter has started sleeping in another bedroom and she has not heard his voice for a week. When Inda invites her sister to lunch the next day, Valerie claims she has to work and go grocery shopping. She also claims she has not talked to Daniel because she is married. Inda worries about her sister. In Chapter 14, Inda sits on her bed angrily. She looks at the personal ads and gets angrier when she realizes Raymond did not even call to make sure she got home. She finds no hope in the personal ads...
