Summary

Chapter 29 – When Simon goes back to school, Abby apologizes for getting him in trouble, and Simon learns that Nick and Abby are now officially going out. He also discovers that Leah found out about the three of them going into Midtown without her, and is really upset. He hears the sound of her almost-crying all the way through rehearsal.

Chapter 30 – At home after rehearsal, Simon has a conversation with his parents, in which his dad apologizes for telling gay jokes, and his mom apologizes for being so obsessively interested in every detail, every change of Simon’s life, explaining that it is hard for her not to continue the habits of his babyhood and childhood.
