Summary

In Chapter 24: "In Which I Am Promoted to Teenager,” Simon forces himself to walk past the news vans, convinced that Kathy will not remember him. He finds his Dad and the two pretend not to see the vans until they leave. However, he is certain more will come back as Isobel is refusing to blame Curtis for losing the body, even to protect her own reputation. His Dad promises that everything will be fine, but Simon is terrified that Kathy will make the connection between himself and the shootings.

That night, the family gathers to talk about important business while building Legos, and it is revealed that it is a tradition they adopted after the shooting. Simon’s mom says the family is continuing with the funeral and Kathy has already asked for an interview about Simon. The next day they find that...
