Summary
Montserrat rushes to Abel’s location. He insists that Alma is trying to kill him, and also admits that the copy of The House of Infinite Wisdom is one he stole from Clarimonde. 2:29 passes without incident and the pair part ways. That night, Montserrat is woken by a concerning and cryptic phone call from Abel. She rushes over and finds his dead body in the bedroom, surrounded by an awful and unnatural silence. Montserrat senses a presence in the room, and panics before phoning the police.
Tristán arrives talk Montserrat out of custody, and she immediately begins to berate him as they drive away for being absent on the night of Abel’s death.
