Summary
At Antares, a film studio in Mexico City, a woman named Montserrat Curiel works on sound for a low-budget film. Paco, the director of the film, pressures Montserrat into booking overtime at the studio without asking her boss’s permission. Then, she leaves for lunch with her childhood friend, Tristán Abascal. Tristán is extremely handsome and once enjoyed a successful career as a television star before getting in a catastrophic car accident and injuring his face. He arrives late for lunch, insists on moving to the smoking section, and complains to Montserrat about having broken up with his girlfriend, Yolanda. Montserrat resents that Tristán only talks to her when he is single. Upon returning to Antares, Montserrat’s boss, Mario, confronts her about scheduling hours without approval.
