Summary
As the group starts their return to the tower in Chapter 44, Tamsin feels numb. The monsters are no longer moving, supporting the idea that the revenant was sustaining them. While they mention the idea of freeing the trapped souls, Tamsin says there was never hope. Yet, when Neve gets in Tamsin's way, she breaks down as Emrys discarded her for the ring. Olwen says Emrys is not worthy of Tamsin's love, revealing that Tamsin's blade only ignites for a worthy person. She realizes they could pursue him, but decides to help Avalon. She and Neve reveal how they got to Avalon, and Caitriona says they stayed when they did not have to. They continue on as Tamsin finds comfort in acknowledging the loss. At the tower, though, Tamsin is surprised to not see the bodies of Children. Then they realize blood...
