In Chapter 37, Emma stayed at home that night, too tired to fight with Jake but she made him sleep on the couch. In the morning. she got a phone call from Rob saying that the police had left his father go free. Rob also told her that he had been following Jake and that there was a garage that Jake visited often. He asked Emma if she would go there with him to see what was there. He requested she not alert the police.
