Summary
In Chapter 33, Stevenson called and confirmed to Emma that the duke was not the one who had taken Aiden. Emma felt as if she were withdrawing from her life. She stopped talking to Aiden and instead wrote letters to him. She wanted to prove to herself that she knew Aiden but at the same time, she did not know him because his abuse had turned him into a different person.
Emma saw Amy on television one day being interviewed. She realizes that Amy was just jealous and attention seeking. In her interview, Amy blamed Emma for Aiden’s disappearance saying that Emma had not taught Aiden to protect himself. When the call-in section of the show started Emma dialed and lied about her identity. She accused Amy of being a lying cow and a backstabber.
