Summary

In Chapter 24, when Jake came home he said that the police had picked apart his statement from ten years ago on the day Aiden was taken. Emma tried not to stiffen when Jake pulled her close. To distract him she suggested they watch television with Aiden. Jake was still angry so Emma asked him exactly what happened. Jake reported he had thought he was with Simon all day when Aiden was taken but that Simon had testified differently. Jake was at first annoyed with Emma but then worried when he learned she had been to the doctor and had been given pills for high blood pressure.
