Point of View
The first element to note about this piece’s point of view is that there is no single narrative perspective. There is no one voice telling the story, no narrator or guide whose commentary and descriptions reveal meaning to the reader / audience. Instead, those engaged with following the story come to understand that meaning by watching and listening to the characters. This means that for the play, as is arguably the case with most plays, the primary point of view is that of the audience, engaged with the story as spectators, and perhaps on some level as emotional participants.
