Unnamed Narrator of "Show Them a Good Time"
The narrator of "Show Them a Good Time" is a young woman that has recently returned to her hometown after living in the nearby city for two years. During her time in the city, she worked as an escort and acted in pornography, and she was involved in a physically abusive relationship with a movie director. Upon arriving home, she applies for a work simulation program where she is hired to stand around in a garage/gas station pretending to work there. Over the course of the story, the narrator becomes attached to the young man, Kevin, that "works" in the garage alongside her. When Kevin is removed, she is distressed and breaks a light bulb. At the end of the story, she is standing on a ladder attempting to install a new light bulb when she falls.
