Summary
“Abortion, a Love Story” continued. Lucy bought a ticket to Spain. Her boyfriend called to apologize, but she hung up on him and threw her phone away. When she arrived in Spain, she checked into a hotel she believed was filled with other “lost souls” (101). She went to the beach, and to clubs, and drank heavily. After doing this for about a week, on her last night in Spain, Lucy sat down in her hotel room and wrote a play.
The story changes scenes under the heading “Putting on a Show” (106). Lucy auditioned for a play, but she behaved ridiculously and refused to take direction; the students casting the play were not impressed.
The story then flashes back to the night Natasha and Lucy met at the dinner with Professor Carr. Afterward, they had gone to Lucy's room and talked...
