Summary

Chapter 31 is titled “Ells for the Reel.” Ronan gives Henry a box of eels. He says he caught them so that Henry could use them for bait when he fishes for stripers. It is his way of making up for losing the pole. Henry accepts them, adding that Ronan has to do one more thing for him. He says Ronan has made up for losing the pole, and that he has to stop worrying about it.

In Chapter 32, “Outside Looking In,” Delsie is waiting for Bridget outside their house. She can see Henry, Esme, and Ruby in their house. Olive arrives.
