Summary

In Chapter 14, “Return of the Madre,” Delsie is running along the beach, thinking. She stops and Ronan catches up with her, revealing that he had begun running when she did, but she outpaced him. He asks for a rematch but Delsie says she has to go home for a cookout. Ronan says he wishes he was having a cookout and Delsie invites him. Delsie and Ronan arrive at the cul-de-sac to find Henry preparing the grill. Ronan laughs when Delsie says Olive lives in the green house. Delsie lives in the yellow house and Henry lives in the red one. The white one is vacant. Olive arrives and is rude to everyone, as usual. She tells Ronan she has nothing worth stealing and gripes because Ruby threw a rock that hit her house. Ronan quietly asks why Olive is mean, and Olive hears...
