Structure
The book is broadly divided into two parts, predictably titled Part One and Part Two. Part One is longer, including a few more sections than its counterpart. This book’s sections are almost entirely consistently separated by year, save for the first and last chapter. One year, 1975, is divided into two halves. It spans the greater divide between Part One and Part Two. Part One ends with Nissho paying back Blue Ribbon’s debt in full, while Part Two begins with Nike becoming incorporated.
The very first and very last sections feature non-numerical titles, as Dawn and Night respectively. With these words, the entire story is framed as one long day.
