Summary

“Casper” takes place in Greenleaf, Alabama. The main characters are Amy Sue, Valentina, and Brittany. They are teenagers who attend the same high school. They work at an unclaimed baggage store, which sells the contents of bags that are unclaimed at airports. They are upset that they were unable to acquire jobs at the larger, nicer unclaimed baggage store in town. One day, one of the bags contains a taxidermied albino monkey. The girls name it Casper, and their reactions to it reflect their personalities. Amy Sue, who is obsessed with popularity, hopes that it might make the store seem ‘cooler.’ Brittany, who is very studious, views it as a potentially important discovery. Valentina, who is more emotionally sensitive, forms an emotional bond towards Casper. They make a display for Casper and place it in the store’s front window...
