Chapter Sixteen: Tuesday, July 18, 0700 hours Summary
By morning, there is no trace of the Phoenix, or of Lyssa and J.J. Will and Ian are asleep on the makeshift raft while Charla scans the waters hoping for a sign of any kind. At seven she wakes Will to tell him it is his turn as shark bait. They had been taking turns every two hours throughout the night. As the morning progresses, the heat intensifies and Ian explains the reason he dragged the canvas sail along with him. Soaking it in the water first, they could pull it over themselves to provide relief from the sun. He also had a hat which Ian explained would be used to collect rain as it was rubber and wouldn't leak. Charla is amazed, but Ian tells her that thirst and sunburn make the difference...
