Chapters Eight and Nine: Saturday, July 15, 0650 to 1750 hours Summary
When J.J. wakes the next morning, the sun is already streaming in, and it is almost seven. He hears the Captain suggest that Radford let them sleep, and they chuckle about how much easier it will be for them to handle the sails on their own. He sneaks up to have a look and sees both the Captain and Radford in the cockpit, and the mainsail rising mechanically on its own. His exclamation of surprise wakes the others and J.J. thinks they should retaliate, but Luke insists that where they are is still better than the cell that waits for him otherwise, and warns J.J. not to mess it up for him. The day before, Will had worn his life jacket backwards for the whole day...
