Structure
She Said is divided into nine chapters and a closing epilogue. The structure follows a largely linear progression; the chapters trace Jodi Kantor's early interest in investigating rumors of Harvey Weinstein's history of sexual misconduct, through her joint work with her colleague Megan Twohey to interview his victims and compile their stories into their groundbreaking Times piece, and to recount the movement that followed the story's publication. Amidst the authors' account of their own work uncovering the complex Weinstein scandal, they incorporate detailed accounts of each of their subjects, as well as reports of frighteningly similar cases to that of Weinstein's. The overarching text, therefore, tells the story of the years leading up to and inspiring the global #MeToo movement, depicting a range of female experiences and the structures and men who abused them.
