Chapter 5 - u-turn

In the spring of 1997, Cassie told her parents that Jamie had invited her to a youth retreat. The parents weren't sure if she should go since they didn't know Jamie very well. Sending Cassie away for an entire weekend seemed very risky. They also knew that the church that was holding the event was a hellfire and brimstone church. In spite of their reservations, they allowed her to go.

Misty prayed for Cassie all weekend long, and she braced herself for the worst. The parents were unprepared for the effect the weekend had on Cassie. Jamie told the story from her point of view six weeks after Cassie was killed.
