Summary
Chapter 5 is from Alex’s perspective. Heather is still angry at Alex, and Alex feels trapped in the apartment. She is also worried about her mother. Alex goes out, feeling aimless when she sees other people going places. She walks to a convenience store where she meets two other girls. She offers to buy them alcohol and realizes she is flirting with one of them. The girls give her money. She buys them hard lemonade that she convinces the cashier to let her purchase, even without her ID. When she meets up with the girls in the parking lot they thank Alex and introduce themselves as Abby and Cora. Cora is an English major, and Alex would be if there was money in it.
