Chapters 19 through 21 Summary

In Chapter 19, Adianna appears, saying she'd just discovered from Christopher where Sarah had gone. Nikolas tells Adianna she can leave but Adianna attacks. Sarah is attacked by some of the humans and Nikolas pins Adianna against the wall while Sarah is dealing with the humans. Sarah agrees to put down all her weapons if Nikolas will set Adianna free. Nikolas disappears with Adianna and then reappears "an instant later" without Adianna. Sarah hopes that he's simply taken her some distance away and left her but knows it's possible that Adianna is now "somewhere in Europe, trying to find a phone to call Dominique to arrange a plane home."

In Chapter 20, Sarah says she can't kill Nikolas without her knives but that she also refuses to beg for her life. Nikolas is just brushing her throat with his fangs when Christopher tells...
