Summary

Adam and Juliette have formed a daily routine in Chapter 10. They talk, but they do not talk about their pasts. As Adam is sleeping one morning, Juliette goes to the window to look at the soldiers on the ground wishing she could be like them. After a few minutes, she starts looking for the bird she keeps hoping to see. Adam wakes up and asks her about her notebook. He tells her that The Reestablishment wants to take away things like writing. When Adam tries to sit near Juliette, she pulls away and he asks her why can he not sit with her. She does not tell him and an argument begins and ends with the pair being silent with each other.
